Insecticide-treated mosquito nets have been shown to be an effective and most cost-effective means for the control of malaria especially among children less than 5 years of age.
Mirai Denchi Nigeria Limited, in its commitment to malaria control and in support of the Millennium Development Goals aimed at halting incidence of malaria by 2020, has through the support of the United Nations, World Health Organization, Federal Government of Nigeria and their partners, rolled out from its hi-tech machines a super quality, tough fibre, insecticide treated net – AKA Net.
AKA Net is a product born out of an extensive research conducted by our team of well seasoned scientists in Japan through cooperation of the Chinese productivity and Japanese quality control.
AKA Net is NAFDAC approved (NAFDAC NO. A5-0801). The Federal Ministry of Health has also recommended and bided it.
AKA Net is a tough fibre insecticidal net made of polyethylene material. It is quite superior to all other nets in the Nigerian market presently. It comes in various sizes (students’ size available) and colours. (Please refer to comparison chart).
|Made from tough fibre polyethylene material.||Made of Polyester suitable for mass production.|
|Insecticide kneaded (infused) into tough- fibre material.||Insecticide is coated on the polyester as material not suitable for chemical infusion.|
|Aka Nets have very long life span. They retain locked-in chemical even after several washings.||Polyester nets have no capacity to with-hold the coated insecticide During washings which results in very short life span for the nets.|
|Aka Nets do not require re-application of insecticide. The insecticidal effect does not weaken from prolonged usage.||All polyester nets require periodic re- coating of chemical treatment after few washings.|
|Aka Nets are very skin-friendly, do not smear on first contact with the skin and so are ready for use!||Polyester nets smear the skin with the coated treatment. As such, they require pre-usage washing or 24-hour exposure before use.|
